Over at the Official Mixtape Awards in London I ended up in a cypher with a handful of MC’s.

Large up Big Narstie, he is Hilarious, some of those bars had me in stitches.

I’ve now finished the tour with Love Social and I have to say they were some of the best performances of my career. Portsmouth in particular, performing to over 2,000 under 18 ravers.

Legendary.

So an hour till loud noises and bright colours in the sky and I figured I’d take a look back at 2011.

As you may remember I wrote a list of things I wanted to accomplish for 2011 on the last day of 2010. I haven’t actually re-read the list since I wrote it so I’m literally blogging and reviewing.

Anyway, without further ado lets see if ShaoDow’s year has been a success or failure…

•Get to 5,000 supporters on my Facebook artist page.

-Well I’m currently at 5,167 on My Facebook Page so SUCCESS.

•Release a strong single and get a decent amount of radio play

-Get Stronger is most definitely my strongest (haha) single to date. With airplay on BBC Radio 1xtra, Kiss FM and other regional stations I’d definitely say this is a SUCCESS.

•Appear on a well known radio show such as Westwood’s show or Logan Sama’s

Didn’t manage this one BUT before I give it the Failure stamp, Get Stronger did get played on Logan Sama’s Show so not a success, but not a complete failure.

•Release an album

Ermmmmmmm… No Comment. FAILURE.

Although! I am half way towards a new EP for next year. So stay tuned.

•Get on TV (no gatecrash)

FAILURE. (Should’ve gatecrashed)

•Keep up with my blog

This is a difficult one, I haven’t been writing as much but I have been video blogging from the road as part of the DiY Gang series so I’ll let you decide on that one.

•Have my music appear in a game, TV show and/or movie

Haven’t managed this one yet, but The British Are Coming was used as the entrance music for John ‘The One’ Maguire’s walk in for his debut fight in the UFC. So I’m claiming that one as a SUCCESS.

•Make sure that significantly more people know my name by the end of next year (and can pronounce it PROPERLY)

Not taking no for an answer for this one I have loads more amazing fans and supporters and I love them all.

•Do bigger and better live performances

So so on this one, I’ve done the O2 academy Oxford this year as well as supporting Giggs in Nottingham but I’m a perfectionist so I can’t give this one a complete success. Luckily I’m planning a UK tour with Zuby for 2012 so hopefully I can tick this one off soon.

•Collaborate with artists such as Wiley, Sway etc

Aside from a collaboration with Ghetts I can’t say that I’ve fully accomplished this one. However, Wiley personally asked me to perform at his Manchester tour date so I’m claiming success on this one and I don’t care what you say ner ner ner.

•Make the music I want to make and not what I’m expected to make/not JUST because it’s what everyone else is doing.

I’m happy with what I’ve made and what I’m making so yeah SUCC -ESSS – BABY

•Improve on everything I’ve accomplished in 2010

I don’t think anyone will begrudge me for claiming a Success on this one.

So yeah after reading through this list for the first time in a year, I’m pretty proud of what I’ve managed to do in 2011. I’ll save the back patting though as 2012 is tomorrow and there is a LOT more to accomplish.

So stay tuned cos my only aim for next year is to improve on EVERYTHING that I’ve done this year.

Let’s see if I can do it.

So if you was reading my blog around this time last year you would’ve seen some of the goals that I listed for 2011.

One of the main ones was to get over 5,000 fans on my facebook page before the end of 2011.

Well as of yesterday I’m now over 5,000 fans and going strong.
